E-rostering

Zircadian's e-rostering module allows consultants and managers to plan clinical and non-clinical activities dynamically, week by week or month by month. Rosters can be created from existing job plans, service plan templates or planned from scratch. Before a roster is published the system will warn a roster manager if activities have not been allocated to consultants or if minimum coverage levels have not been achieved.

 

For each consultant, the e-rostering module keeps a running tally of the rostered activities and reconciles this with the agreed totals from MyJobPlan. E-rostering gives consultants greater flexibility in planning their working lives but helps prevent unnecessary cancellations of clinics and services.

 

Leave

Consultant leave can be complicated by the fact that their leave years often run from the date of their appointment. This can make the management of leave and the calculation of consultant entitlements difficult. The leave module automatically calculates consultant entitlements, outstanding leave and carry-overs from previous years.

 

Consultants can request leave from their clinical leads (or managers) electronically. Clinical leads (managers) can check this leave against existing staffing levels and planned activities before deciding to authorise the leave.

 

The leave module also has business rules written in to highlight leave requests which have insufficient notice, and will also integrate with the e-rostering module module. This will clearly show what activities will be cancelled or delayed due to the leave being taken.
