This week sees the launch of Work Matters magazine, the online publication for NHS staff which tackles in plain English the key factors affecting employment and staff in the NHS. Work Matters will be widely accessible on trust intranet systems.

 

Issue 1 features a section on the European Working Time Directive (EWTD) including a Q&A with Zircadian's Managing Director Dr Henry Carleton on page 16. Also addressing the subject of the Directive are Elisabetta Zanon, Director of the NHS Confederation European Office, and Dr Andrew Thornley, Chair of the BMA Junior Doctors' Committee.

 

The magazine opens with a foreword by Ann Keen MP, Parliamentary Under-Secretary for Health Services and covers a range of topics such as stress management for NHS staff, and dealing with aggression on the frontline. One of Zircadian's clients, Heart of England NHS Foundation Trust, is the subject of an in-depth article which focuses on its award-winning employee engagement strategy.
