Through rota building activities alone, Zircadian has helped save trusts well over £20 million in the last five years.

Zircadian has been invited by the Welsh Assembly Government to carry out a consultancy project to help all NHS trusts in Wales improve EWTD compliance before the August 2009 deadline.
Zircadian's junior doctor rota management system, MRM-Live, is currently used by all trusts in Wales. The MRM-Live software has highlighted the fact that many of those trusts still have a significant number of junior doctors' rotas that do not comply with the European Working Time Directive target. The Welsh Assembly Government is keen to help trusts achieve EWTD compliance by the August 2009 deadline, at which point a 48 hour limit on weekly working hours will be imposed by law. With this fast-approaching deadline in mind, Zircadian has been invited to conduct a consultancy project enabling Wales to reach its compliance goal.
Richard Lucas, the Zircadian Consultant leading the project, said: "Meeting the 2009 compliance deadline does not necessarily mean a major redesign of every rota for a trust. Many rotas are already close to the 2009 target of 48 hours, so in these cases there are a number of simple solutions that can push a rota into compliance, without having a major effect on services. By offering bespoke solutions for rotas that are just shy of the target we can take the burden off of trusts, allowing them to focus their efforts on those problem rotas that still have some way to go to meet 2009 compliance and which may need a major redesign."

I couldn’t recommend MRM-Live more highly. It is an important tool in our drive to achieve and maintain WTD compliance.
