MyJobPlan now provides job planning for specialty doctors and associate specialists (SAS).

 

The new contract for SAS doctors was introduced from April 2008. MyJobPlan now supports SAS doctor contracts with its new SAS doctor licence. A SAS doctor licence will provide the same functionality for SAS doctors as for consultants, with two modifications:

 

1. In the job plan wizard, a SAS doctor is asked whether they work in the out of hours period and whether this work is on-call or shift based. The system then asks appropriate questions to calaculate the appropriate number of PAs.
2. The on-call availability supplement is calculated as either 6%,4% or 2% depending on on-call frequency.

Managers who manage both consultants and SAS doctors now have a modified dashboard that displays the summary information for consultants and SAS doctors separately. Reports can now be filtered to show PA values for either consultants, SAS doctors or both.

 

With this new functionality, a trust can now manage both its SAS doctors and consultants electronically, and plan the service delivery of both these groups effectively and efficiently.
